Episode 97 - "It's Lifey" with Jennifer Newberg

In this episode of Just Enamoured, I sit down with Jennifer Newberg, founder of It’s Lifey, for a deeply honest conversation about grief, loneliness, kindness and the life-changing power of connection.

Jennifer reflects on the moment her world changed forever, losing her husband Jack suddenly while they were on a trip to Greece and the traumatic chaos that followed: being far from home, navigating unimaginable logistics and then returning to a life that no longer looked or felt the same. She speaks candidly about the profound loneliness of widowhood, the panic attack that became a turning point in her healing, and the reality that for so many widows, connection is not just comforting, it is survival.

But this episode is equally about what Jennifer chose to build from that pain.

Drawing from the power of community she had experienced in recovery, Jennifer created It’s Lifey as a safe, judgment-free space where widows can be seen, supported and understood. Through support groups, retreats and the launch of Hopehub, she is building a place where women can move through grief together, speak openly and find real healing in shared experience. Jennifer also unpacks the ways society misunderstands grief, the loneliness epidemic surrounding widowhood and why education, acceptance and community matter so deeply.

This is a conversation about loss, but it is also about purpose. About taking the most painful chapter of your life and turning it into something that helps other people feel less alone.
